Welcome Joe 961, It will be worth the waitStill waiting for my registration logbook so can’t ride it yet doing my head in
You can’t legally ride the bike the day of purchase?Still waiting for my registration logbook so can’t ride it yet doing my head in
Joe, i'm sure you can ride it without the log book.... if the bike is taxed, the dealer must have registered the bike with the DVLA... i ridden LOADS of new bikes before receiving it and i sure will be riding my new 961 in september before i receive it.... my local multi franchise dealers always show foto's of new bikes being ridden off from their premises.Still waiting for my registration logbook so can’t ride it yet doing my head in
It’s not the dealership fault it’s because they all take 3/4 weeks to be put on the dvla system it’s not registered till you check with dvla or on there site you cannot ins the bike because it will show up as not registered phone factory they will tell the same or any dealershipJoe, i'm sure you can ride it without the log book.... if the bike is taxed, the dealer must have registered the bike with the DVLA... i ridden LOADS of new bikes before receiving it and i sure will be riding my new 961 in september before i receive it.... my local multi franchise dealers always show foto's of new bikes being ridden off from their premises.
Don’t worry I did it’s registered now today taken 3 weeks it’s not like buying a mass produced bike or car they have to pass a sva test then send it all to dvla to deal and wait for them to clear itI guess you already have a number plate fitted? If so why not enter in in the DVLA search and see if it's already in the system? If it is you are good to go.

No sorryYou can’t legally ride the bike the day of purchase?
You guys have some weird laws.No sorry
If it's a "Normal" bike it's quick over here TBH, but as the 961 hasn't passed all the new tests it has to go through the SVA system I think. You guys have some weird laws.
Here, we get the registration and permanent plate the day of purchase from the dealership.
That’s how it was at my local ducati and triumph dealer within the last 8-12 months.
If not, then the dealer gives you a 30-45 day temporary license tag until your paperwork shows up in the mail. Then you can take it to the license bureau to get the permanent license plate.
Either way, you ride your bike / car the day you take delivery.
