Mikuni cable throttle stop & adjuster nut question.

I just noticed the angle piece that comes off the cap of my VM 34 is loose. I can lift it completely off the cap and I'm wondering why. It seems to me the throttle stop should thread into the cap but mine doesn't. Is it stripped? I plan on taking the tank off to look at it later today but thought I would ask first.

Disregard this question I heard back from a friend who has a lot of Mikuni expireance. He assured me mine was just out of adjustment & that piece does just float into the cap.
