Mahindra buys BSA

In my latest copy of Classic Bike it was announced the Mahindra had bought BSA from BSA-Regal for 3.4m pounds. The plan is to have new BSA's on sale by 2019.
Another brand back from the dead.

At least, the brand will return to the market place, hopefully with modern technology combined with classic styling? Wait and see, I guess, and hope for the best.

The article also said they were going to build Jawa's for Indian and the far east.
The pictures look great. Wish that BSA had done that way back when.

The Rittle Mahindras are frontrunners . Could be the rider - But they stay together at least , so must be somthing in it .
Beats somebody building some timewarp anachronism and passing it off as something its not .

Cant get the sizing right . theres Ten in that bunch .

I'm willing to bet they won't resurrect the "Bantam". Many of my work-mates had them - 2-stroke single, 150cc, rigid rear end initially. I thnk later models want to 200cc and a swing-arm rear suspension. BSA made a large number when the UK Post Office Telegram department bought them for their dispatch riders.

I reckon thats why the Mail Service is so hopeless in Australia . Bring Back the Bantam . Or at least paint the Hondas RED , so that they Go Faster .

That red BSA prototype used a 1000cc Wasp engine. Only 28 engines were ever built, I have probably the rarest bird - the original works WASP 1000cc engine and frame from Terry Good, Wasp works racer in those days in sidecar MX. Anyone willing to build a copy of the prototype or rebuild the WASPWASP 1000 of Terry Good - talk to me. I realised I will never have time to do all the projects that are waiting in my shed.
