I've heard that Greta Thunberg has deleted her post from 2018 when she claimed we only had 5 years until the planet burnt up
I can forgive her for her wrong prediction because she was very young
I can remember in the 70s when I was a similar age all the scientists scaring people with the coming ice age stories
But I think 5 years on
She's older and wiser and should apologize or admit that she got it wrong

Can you forgive her for being a self absorbed, holier-than-thou, angry monster that isn't smart enough to know what she doesn't know, and simply projectile vomited faulty rhetoric drilled into her adolescent mind by the woke socialists? ❄️

Maybe I came across wrong
I mean she was young and influenced
But now she should apologize for being wrong

I understand.

And agree.
Pretty sure, you have a better chance of seeing Santa Claus, The Easter Bunny and the Tooth Fairy outside your front door as you walk out, compared to the chances of her apologizing.

I'm a great believer in standing up and saying "I'm wrong"
I brought my kids up that way
I don't understand why people can't admit when they are wrong
Just my opinion

Humility. An attribute that's not really popular any more.
😞

In the metal fab shop I worked in, early on, we had a little tradition.
When there was a difference of opinion (nuts & bolts, not philosophy) we would research it. Deep.
Whoever was inaccurate, was bound by tradition, to stand up on the Acorn brand platten table, and bellow repeatedly:

"I WAS WRONG!!! I WAS FECKING WROOOOOOOONNNNGGGG!!!!"🗣️🗣️🤡

It worked well, to cause people to do some real digging when faced with a fork in the road problem.

I work in a steel fabrication shop
I'd like to see that system introduced here
There are basically two camps on the shop floor
Those that hide their mistakes if at all possible and take the piss out of others if they make one
Then there's the other camp that just laugh, admit their mistakes ,sort it out and get on with it

Yes, that's good
But if we live in a world where people are not brave enough to state positions that are proven to be wrong then we're all rooted (IMHO).
The caveat to that is the need for subsequent admissions of error - which is probably the nub of this discussion.
Cheers

Hmm. Have you read the latest climate change report from the UN?
Greta is not perfect or faultless or whatever, but her point is still very true. Unless there's a radical change in the way we live and behave, it's going to be a very uncomfortable ride. I won't be around to see it (I think), but her generation will get the full effects.

The trouble is what reports can you believe these days
There's so much info and disinformation out there you can just choose who to believe
As Greta has

I am sure that in her heart, she knows she is right ...... she just has to push it out another 5 years.

Don't expect an apology...... those who favor leftward thinking, when faced with irrefutable facts that prove them wrong, will seek a way to blame rightward thinkers for their predicament, or fall back to name calling. Then there is the old standby way out ....."your irrefutable facts are racist!"

Just look at the oil companies research they did themselves for what was suppressed.

Climate change deniers remind me of the cigarette companies positions in the 20th century.

It always makes me laugh when people are called "climate deniers " whether they be experts or laymen they are shut down for not going with the mainstream
No chance of hearing both sides and isn't healthy for honest debate
That's the way these days

I have never denied that the climate is changing .... in fact, I have asserted that it has been changing for millions of years .... why should it stop changing now?

What I question, and no climate change proponent can answer is ..... how much of the change, i.e. what percentage, is due to man's activity?
