Stan Smith (Rocky Point) sells NGK resistor caps, but if resistor spark plugs are sufficient, that is certainly the easiest route!
 
Let's see, I have Honda ones, Chang ones, BMW ones, Mercedes, ones, and I might still have a couple of Volvo ones. Odds are I'd just use something in the garage these days.
Darn near any of the old Bosche types have resistor plug caps and they clean up well as long as the resistor pellet is good. Easy to check with an ohm meter.
Resistor plugs do sound like an easy way out.
 
I have been running resistor plugs and fairly low-resistance wires (350 ohm/foot or so) with a Sparx 3-phase charging system and Boyer ignition for some time now. No apparent ill effects.

I've never known anyone to say that using resistor plugs instead of resistor caps has caused any ill-effects?

One thing for owners to take into consideration when using the standard Commando ignition coil setup with only resistor HT leads/plug wires is that the wires are normally fairly short, maybe 8 - 10 inches, and standard resistor wire only has around 2.2-3.0 (+ or - 10%) kOhms of resistance per foot.
 
Thanks for all the replies. After reading one post I couldn't help but reply. I worked on that gas tank for almost 3 weeks before I painted it. I still can't find the rust spot someone pointed out. The last brit show I went to was a mixture of all kinds of bikes, mega dollar and not so mega. But everyone seemed to have pride in just riding old brit bikes. Let's try to keep that feeling. Let the harley guys stare at each others chrome. We'll be the ones smilling!
 
maybe it's a reflection, or do you possibly have a decal above the right tap that says "reserve" ??
 
It's the decal! Now if I can talk my wife into just one more upgrade I sure would like new rims and spokes. Anyone have a idea as to what would set this bike off? Maybe polished or maybe black or maybe chrome. Would you build your own or have them done? Happy Norton Valentines.
 
As for getting the upgrade by the wife you need to act very depressed for at least a day or so. Then when she asks whats wrong you say nothing at least 4 or 5 times before telling her you just hate to ask her for another few hundred bucks for an upgrade. With my wife I think by about the time I finish she will have about had it, But that's ok because the bike will be finished and I will be on the road. Good luck my friend as these bikes can sure put a little pressure on a marriage, Chuck. :lol:
 
This forum is great. You can meet people with the same mental problems from Maine to California. One question was asked about my tire choice. They are good old dunlop K81 front and rear 19x4.10.
