I'm fairly certain that all 69/70 rear lamp fairings were silver flake. The only black one was the Yellow model to match the black decals (my opinion). You can look here http://www.classicbike.biz/Norton/Broch ... chures.htm

My flake blue model was silver flake.

I got my center stand from RGM as the bike didn't come with one. If someone can tell me how to put that 'locating spring' on that pin, I'd be glad to hear it.

I think more than one of us has put the bike on the center stand and gotten their toe under that tab, I know I did and I had Crocks on and it wasn't pleasant. I think it was worse than getting stepped on by a horse, at least you know at some point the horse is going to move, the bike won't unless you move it and while your toe is being crushed it's hard to think. Come to think of it's it's hard to put your knee in the horse's rib while your foot is stuck under 1200lbs.

So you should be sorry. I have a kink in my neck now. Are you talking about fitting the return spring on the centre stand. if you are, get a pc of 1/8 welding wire. make a loop that can easily be undone and hook the spring on it. Pull it with all your might till it reaches and goes into the hole. [ you do know how to put things in holes don't you ] next carefully remove the welding wire.
If not. WTF are you talking about. [ BTW someone else was talking about having a 19 inch thingy that needed doing something with ] Us mechanics have learned to do things blindfolded, behind our backs and left handed when we are right handed..

If he'd been following the thread closely he'd know DogT means the 06-1295 locating spring that fits over the 'pin' of the pre-'71 stand.

Loads of torque backup. I think this tractor was made by Aston Martin D.B.

Have you cut that field yet?
Cheers

Like LAB said I'm talking about the 06-1295 locating spring. I never had a problem putting the big spring on. I just grabbed it with a hook from the rear and pulled it on. Rear tire off of course.

I've never seen a David Brown tractor that looked like a real tractor, I though they all looked like some strange rube goldberg device.
