Did you get your gauges refurbed in the UK? If so can you tell me where please. I have a speedo that needs doing.

Why no new sprocket?
It's in excellent shape, near zero wear, original tooth profle with no fishooking; so is the rear wheel sprocket. Chain was rusty from age/sitting, not use.

Can't seem to get rid of the green stains on the rubber booties of the electrical connectors, but I did clean the actual connectors and checked them all for snug fit.

Have you tried soaking it in with ordinary household bleach? Just a thought.

I've been trying the various cleaners I have around the shop.

Sure won't hurt to try bleach & vinegar, on another old harness I have...

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Plenty of other fish to fry in a restoration of a machine that didn't run for a time.

New front fender arrived today, I'd like to see it side-by-side an original...

The more I look at this fairing, the more I think it's probably not an original Norton (Avon) part.

I noticed there are no dzus fastener holes for the tank cowling...

Nothing on the fairing lines up with the tank cowl

No alignment between these two, other than general size

I've seen photos where the three idiot lights are two over, one under, not 3-in-a-row.

Also, the dash area should all be flat black...

This is a shot of the 'glass construction under the tank cowl

Here's an underside shot of the fairing.

My guess is, two different manufacturers.

This old fairing does not have the lower section that the JPN/AN part has. I've got nothing below the red line.

Cleaned up the chainguard tail

Thorough scrubbing of the master cylinder and clutch perch, with a re-spray under the lamps.

Also got in the new front brake hose and a few other insignificant bits.

Sorry to tell you, but your fairing appears to be not original.
The headlight indents on the original fairing are not flat on the back, but should have a bottle top shape with a slightly oval opening.

I was pretty sure of that as soon as I cut the wrapping free.

It would have been a bargain at $75, 'till the overseas postage figured in!

It will be sold on, along with the adapted tank shroud and Gus Kuhn Dualseat, both painted white w/ red & blue stripes.

The replacement grip had this rolled up inside it, I had never seen once of these in the original packaging

Original hose shroud was hard, I had another that was nice and pliable after setting it under a heat lamp for 3 minutes

This is one of the gaps that let moisture and debris in

This is the other gap that will be sealed

New fairing finally arrived!

Are these the correct headlight cups?

Sure looks nicer than the old one!
