I'm really a keep it stock type for cars but if you take a Model A and plop in a a motor out of a
contemporary car I am mostly ok with that. Like you drop in a Caddy V8 out of a 1932. If you use
a OHV post war then Im not so amused.

So judging by the reaction to a reengined Jag, I guess nobody on this forum has a Triton or any other featherbed framed special? :p o_O

Not that I don't understand the reaction. I get a kick out of the hot rodders that claim to have a Model A, or 40 Ford, or-pick your vehicle-with a chevy V8, THM transmission, disc brakes, air conditioning, all leather interior and modern suspension but still think they have an original classic car.
But how many people put a Norton engine in a triumph frame?

Oh sorry I was still in the twin mode.
I'm guessing a lot of Tritons were built from es2s ,88s etc
I wouldn't have thought many were built from say a 650ss or an atlas
But who knows?
I once bought a Triton and fitted it with a commando engine !

Here's the photos again. Hopefully these imgur images won't disappear.

There is something sinful about putting a Chevy engine in a Jag. The mere idea of it would have made a Jag lover friend of mine puke!

Slick
It would be now but , but I am sure I have a old book like a HP book on how to put a V8 into a E-type , must have been common in the 80s .

There was a class of car racing (50s) that used a 500cc engine. Apparently people would by a Manx Norton and remove the engine to put it in a race car. So I would imagine a few Featherbed rolling chassis became available for 'special' builders.
