Where do you live Mark? I know a guy that may still have one for sale for 4,500 that is complete. He is here in Long Beach, Ca.

I drive an orig. combat, 1972, # 209199 unmolested.
Your case numbers are in the serial number range for early Jan-Feb 1972 production.
Assuming no one detuned it or played around inside it may still have combat specs.
The Amals should read 926/932's if orig. That is how mine appear on the outside casting facing you.
"C"head can always be added but the build range is right for your serial number.
They go like hell trust me.
0-50 no other vintage riders can keep up 8)

Good info. The PO changed over to a single Mikuni.
But included with the bike were several boxes with a buncha parts and what looks like the original carbs, cables and manifolds.
The stuff is old, dirty and covered with grime. But I'm sure under there somewhere I can try to ID the carbs.
Assuming they are the originals. Next time I have the tank off (soon, paint) I will check under the HS.
She does pull hard down low and has a great lumpy idle.
Of course being my first Norton and living where there is pretty much no other Commandos to compare her to, I'm feeling my way around in the dark.

Ok I checked out the carbs.
Since they were just sitting In the box, it was easy.
Both marked 930 with a little 68 and 69 under the 930's.
They are probably the original carbs judging by the grime etc.
Confidence is dwindling on the Combat probability.
I do have another box marked Commando Barrels - Bored.
Opening that one showed a nice set of barrels with fresh black paint.
And a set of pistons, shiney and sealed in bags. .20 is stamped/marked on the tops.
