Ta - first long run this year and it rewarded me by the throttle cable sticking. Most invigorating when negotiating shopper trafficForgot to mention, lovely looking Morgan there as well!
I recon that would be an awesome combination! I started my mk1 capri up for the first time this year yesterday. When I had it running after a total rebuild last year, had the same thing, sticking throttle. Very exciting! Sorta!Ta - first long run this year and it rewarded me by the throttle cable sticking. Wanted to fit a tow bar so I could trailer the Norton for track sessions - I reckon they'd look good together!
Mk1 capri is nice! Years ago had a Morris Marina - for our overseas cousins it's a bit like a Dodge Viper and the throttle cable broke so I connected the 'pull twist and lock' choke cable to the throttle. Gear changes were interesting but I claim to have had the first form of cruise control!I recon that would be an awesome combination! I started my mk1 capri up for the first time this year yesterday. Morris Marina. Bit like a Dodge Viper. well, they both used letters of the alphabet for their name. Struggling to see the other similarities!Mk1 capri is nice! Easily incorporated:It seems your memory is going Clive... you forgot to insert the blower twixt filter and cylinder head...
You may jest sir but this big gap has preoccupied my thoughts for days!!! I saw a test of this item on a car and of course it just interrupted the airflow and lost power. But a Rotrex C15 (~£2000) with a brushless motor(~£250), which is supposed to be the equivalent of a 50cc engine for large model aircraft, and a 12 cell lipo (~£200) providing a lift to the power curve at the bottom end on demand. Plus some ECU work of course. I don't need top end power as 135mph is perfectly fast enough ta but I just need to accelerate faster out of corners (see track day pics)...Easily incorporated:
Have you decided on a intake tract length ?Got new injectors (on left) and oooooh spot the big difference;

So a quick trip to Mr Ebay;

All fitted with existing airbox and the bum dyno feels like its pulling really well from 3000rpm but could be fake news....
So make a start on the new inlet bits;

what, not even one per cylinder? Yep, saw some reviews, along the lines of we know it's stupid, but lets take it seriously and put it on the dyno. I still think something belt driven would be awesome, but something electric tat doesn't sap engine power to drive would be pretty cool. You could have one of hose arming switches under a red flip up cover on the bars! ECU would be when it see's positive pressure, start changing ignition and fuel.You may jest sir but this big gap has preoccupied my thoughts for days!!! I don't think I could stand the embarrassment if they sent the wrong colour!!Easily incorporated:
Agree, total deal breaker. I particularly like the dusty grey look of the impeller (restrictor?') but it must be so hard to get recycled plastic to have an even colour I guess?I don't think I could stand the embarrassment if they sent the wrong colour!!
What were they thinking, really.No Norton 961. Blaspehemy!
Mind you, could the chassis handle all those extra straining horses??? (Though why does my mind default to 'constipated donkey' at that phrase?)Agree, total deal breaker. I've studied the 120 page list of compatible vehicles (that's some R&D testing regime they have there ). No Norton 961. Blaspehemy!
I'm actually thinking to ditch the brembos, face them in the wrong direction (I'm thinking two here...symmetry and all that) and using them as brakes. What could possibly go wrong?Mind you, could the chassis handle all those extra straining horses??? (Though why does my mind default to 'constipated donkey' at that phrase?)
'My Little Ponies' perhaps....
Yes definitely ! That’s what you will be doing I hope ? I don’t have any place around me that work with SXtune and SCS Delta. And seeing I can’t do it myself , this was my next option. This is all reversible so get going with SCS And get get that high flow intake map created. And when my Power Commander Map is done we will have that option too see ?Interesting! So what’s the theory here? Would not remappping the scs directly be an option?
Gotcha! Making sense! Yep, we have places around here that will only deal with certain ECU's meaning we might have to look country wide. Some times that might be a really long trip...well, a few hrs at least! Us islanders have a different perspective on distance!Yes definitely ! That’s what you will be doing I hope ?
