First day on my 961...

I just started my 961 sport for the first since it's birth.
Bloody hell, noisy or what! Clanky clankity clank. I let it run for 5 or 6 minutes then turned it off. Looked at the gloomy weather outside, cold and windy, yea reminds of England in the summer.
I said to myself, gotta go for spin around the block. Grabbed a jacket and jumped on it and done a couple of laps. First impressions, noisy, a little rougher ride than the '06 triumph bonneville I just sold, seat was a bit hard, but I'll get used to it I'm sure. Tomorrow's supposed to be warmer, maybe some miles.

That noisy, slightly rougher ride is half of it's charm :) That and it's amazingly good looks. It's a beast in a fancy suit.

The mechanical noise will diminish with miles. Put your choice of pipes on it and the mechanical noise will all but dissapear!

Absolutely true. With the original pipes I got daily comments such as "Is it supposed to sound like that?" and "Did you forget to put oil in that thing?" After switching the pipes I just get compliments on the great sound. Also, the bike was significantly smoother after the first service, and much better at 1500 miles (which I've just passed).
