Cant think of Luton airport without thinking of Lorraine Chase being wafted on a carpet from paradise...

I'd assumed the fire was accidental!

I often discuss such stuff with a good mate, 99% of the time he concludes conspiracy whilst I conclude incompetence.

A proper conspiracy takes some serious intellect and diligence... show me any political party anywhere in the world these days that’s got an abundance of those traits !!

Whatever happened to the ever endorsing EV advocate from down under who denied any factual insight regarding EV technology and development...he rides a bike with an internal combustion engine?
As the continual downside effects of developing storage of electrical power to make a car move continues to get uglier and more obvious...what's a Greenie to do?
Don't look now but Hydrogen fuel is gaining huge steps in the alternative fuel source market. It's exhaust by-product is water vapor.
Oh, yeah, with some already patented modifications in fuel delivery and holding, it will work with most of the IC engines as they are built today.

Green hydrogen eg water split into oxygen and hydrogen by electrolysis using PV or wind as opposed to extraction from oil, gas or coal is the most expensive of the four routes. Just another cul de sac to wander down wasting money before realising the reverse gear is the best one to use.

None of this Unicorn dust will work until the costs come down to match energy production from coal in $. That's what China uses to make all the PV panels, Wind Turbines and EV cars which they then flood the market with to take out all the competition. They must think we have a death wish and they are happy to supply the poison we ask them for.

Developers of US offshore projects seek major hike in contract prices​

Developers of four offshore wind projects off New York state are seeking an average 48% increase in their contract prices to $167.25/MWh, according to a regulatory filing.

Remember this is for electricity that comes and goes with the weather, not dispatchable on demand generation or fixed base load.
 
A colleague of mine picked up a very expensive, brand new Mercedes EV two weeks ago.

Last week we got a call from a client requiring him to visit a factory in Scotland soon.

After spending several hours researching this, he concluded he needs to hire a car for the trip as the charging infrastructure makes the journey very challenging in his new, expensive, shiny, EV !!

I absolutely pissed myself.

As you can imagine, he hasn’t heard the last of this. We need a new and suitably derogatory nick name for him. Any suggestions ?

Can't quite think of a proper nick name as yet but it seems almost as if he needs another shilling for the meter
Or maybe more meters/chargers?
So could be "shilling short Merc" or "shillings list"
Tell him they are re writing Janis Joplins "oh lord won't you buy me a Mercedes Benz " to "oh lord won't you buy me a diesel Genny"
