As I have mentioned in other posts they have produced the bikes which have been standing unreleased because their Quality guy was unhappy with potential reliability issues which is why they brought in existing owners as 'consultants' and engaged in an extensive program of testing on road and track. Whether they actually intend to continue with this model or treat it as an exercise for future models I don't know, but if 961 modified/improved parts are being produced then that's going to be a bin full on the shelf....

Well I hope so, I don't think they could do any better.

If you have a comms channel how about asking somebody from the factory to register on Access Norton and give us all some updates?

I shall certainly suggest that - the initial contact with me was from monitoring this site.

I know there has been some connection from the factory in the past but I also would understand if they don't want it to become an online 'help me fix my bike' service especially with the difficult situation of supporting bikes built under a different company. They seem way more active with their web site at last and have an official Facebook page - hopefully an altogether more professional media setup to keep us up to date with new developments. You could say that the more official channel was through the Norton Owners Club but I know that some terrible hostility from NOC members in the past has made 961 owners distance themselves from it.

@Clive Whilst I may be straying off topic, I believe that website was one of the reasons I didn't buy the bike years ago.
 
There were a number of conversation here regarding the throttle, it's design and how we got the injection system we did. Still holds a bit of an interest to me.

I thought I'd post some additional photos of an AT Power unit I picked up. I know little of the history, beyond that they were fitted to some bikes. I figured it's loosely on topic with the original post.

Let me know if that works. As (hopefully) you can see the design of them is shaftless. I'm not sure if those grub screws are for air balancing. Dominator owners may note that the "trumpet" side appears to be removable, so I guess could be shortened. I'm as yet unsure.

It looks pretty interesting and nicely made. Is there still a shared passage open between the bodies, or is that closed once the temperature is up?

Good to hear you can see them now. Shared passage still, but layed out differently. I’m going to spent a bit of time on them - I’m planning to get them tidied up then block the passage and try them.
