I think VXB may well be sourcing from China now. I think, but can't be sure, that the last one I sourced from them did have the P/N on it but that was some years ago. It seems that if all the parts are in good shape with a good starter and electrical system the E-start works just fine. I know that just replacing the sprag with the beat up parts didn't last. I suspect that the original parts weren't up to snuff - not hard enough and/or not in tolerance allowing the sprags to roll and lock.

I forgot to mention, the vendor who I bought the sprag clutches from is The Special Bearing Store.

Everyone is pulling in the clutch lever before hitting the magic starter button , right ?
Saves a bit on the wear and tear on our sprags.
Otherwise you add clutch-gearbox weight/ resistance into the starter system. That stresses the sprag more unnecessarily. Enjoy.

Still going strong with two years hard use. This is the HWB bearing Co. Item. Running in a tough core case hardened sprocket.

Ok, but at a $22.40 cost, are you made of money? :)
My $17 sprag is still working perfectly, all done incorrectly running in worn original parts.
Can't seem to kill it!

Glen

Thanks for the tip. Kind regards
