Using 20W50 oil multigrade. Big cables, Big Odyssey battery. Being a 76 Canadian model MK111 in the frozen north this will limit my season. Ideas ?

I once greased the sprag up real well, and it did the same thing, I had to clean out the grease, there has to be some friction for the dog bone rollers to grab and rock tight. FYI I ordered three bearings from Ali Express, and only received one, I am going to try to get the others or a refund but the website is horrible.

I don't know what's in there. Kieth Newton rebuilt the bike for an Ottawa owner after the rod was thrown due to anti sumping valve failure. Could be a 14 or an 18. When warm it has given me a reliable grab and start maybe 400 times since purchase. Cold she just spins below 15 C.
 
Most AliExpress stuff is free postage and I have found buying more than one ends up being a delivery of one so I now buy single items multiple times.
 
I bought the first one a couple of years ago. Unlike the Norvil item, it made the starter work.
Unconvinced, I waited until it made a couple of hundred starts before ordering two more for the shelf.
No problem with either of the orders, just a bit slow on delivery.

Glad that these are working for other people as well.

Pretty soon I'll report on my $19 battery!

There are a number of sellers offering the sprag on AliExpress.
Best to order from a seller with all or mostly good reviews.

The Chinese Aliexpress sellers also rely on subsidised postage based on China's emerging economy status, so ordering 2 or 3 when for 1 the postage is free can perversely increase the postage, as well as risking only 1 showing up.
 
It's worth a shot.
The seller I bought from isn't on there at the moment.
People have purchased the bearing from various AliExpress sellers and I have not seen a failure reported her yet.
Ideally these are all the same spec bearings coming from the same factory.
This could well be the case. The Ali express bearing installed in my MK3 a couple of years is ago still working fine.
