Hi Guys
Can some kind person give me an idea on the positioning of the data plate on the headstock?

If it's ever had one then the rivet holes should already be there?

If the previous plate was chiseled off there may not be much evidence of the drive screws but they will be there, maybe you will see them better from inside the headstock if the one of the bearings is removed.

Never had a plate fitted.... but it will soon
I have just stamped the plate up so need the approximate location to affix it... a photo of one fitted would do nicely Sir

On my 1973 850 the plate is in vertical alignment with the left (as sitting on the bike) edge of the steering stop. The upper corner is exactly 1/2 down from the steering stop.
