Boyer issues? Or not?

The enrichener circuit on a Mik needs a fully closed throttle to operate.

Just a reminder.

Even tho the pouring gas to it didn’t really get a result I replaced the plugs and after some kick with the enrichment circuit on they still seemed pretty dry.

Probably not the best diagnostic technique but I’m switching back to my amals. Planned on doing it anyway and the tanks off so it’s a good time.

Thank you for all of your replys. I double checked every suggestion even the 180 out one! Helps a lot.
Had similar with Mikuni carbonators on a not Commando. The little rubber pad on the end of the choke plunger thingie dries out and gets hard as rock after a couple of decades. For some reason once this happens the choke doesn't seem to pull much fuel into the intake tract. I came up with a starting routine that would light it up but it was excessive kicking nonsense throttle wide open and then throttle closed. It usually started with a small amount of throttle after about 5 kicks. I could have replaced the choke hardware and continued using them without all the kicking nonsense, but had a chubby for the FCR carburetors, so bought em. They do get the job done. Although I still have to pump the throttle twice and kick 3 times with the throttle wide open to get enough fuel in the combustion chamber to have a clean start. Otherwise it misfires lean a couple of strokes before leveling off on both cylinders. Motor sits straight up so everything is different from whatever Commando owners would experience.

If I had a Commando now in my golden years, I would be tempted to put 32mm Amal Premiers on with some sort of gantry thing, or dual cables from the throttle. That very old school tickler mechanism is magical for cold starts. Plus they do look a lot better nostalgia wise than scary looking Keihin FCR carburetors.
