dear All,
after you brilliantly solved the question on how to post the decal on the gearbox, here I have another dilemma plagueing the humanity:
how to post the decal indicating the oil to use on the frame? (please, see the first picture below)

On the parts book it is clearly drawn the position (please, see the second picture below), but the question is:
what is/was the exact direction?

I know we may expect a percentuage of randomness, at the same time I believe that in industrial factories every action was quite pretty standardized and as a result a number of details should be standardized..

Thank you again for helping!

neither did my 73, but i have one now because i thought that was going to be the red lettered sticker in the same area of the frame. Gotta find that one

Mine is facing so that it is readable standing on the left side of the bike. And the placement is that the bottom edge of the Norton letters run almost right along the top of the pipe, so the sticker is actually offset to the left. It is not centered over the pipe. Here is a pic. Not the clearest but you can see the Norton letters and location of the sticker.

Mines in the centre but twisted 15 degrees and if the interstate tank was fitted it would conceal it DOH.

One in the funny Norton book , is front 1/2 behind cross tube at front of seat hoop ,on spine . Read from right. installed crocked . Id chuck it under the seat base .
Are you going to follow the instructions ? :)

not a great pic but you can see it on my 72 frame in this pic:

it is oriented so you can read it if you are standing directly behind the bike. It is placed 1 inch up from where the top tube terminates.
