Affect of ethanol on fuel lines

I use regular automotive black fuel line on mine with no added filters as I do not think they are necessary. If I replace my lines again, they are a good 6 years old now, I will use fuel injection fuel line. It is regular black on the outside but has a blue inner lining that looks like it would be impervious to everything. Check it out. I don't care for the clear stuff myself.

I have black fuel line and square filters from mikesxs. the fuel line is nice and resistant, the filters on the other hand have quickly given up, yellowed and bent. NOt leaking yet, but i'm not holding my breath. trying to find some nice small metal filters.

Russell makes fuel filters with metal housings that look like they would do. EMGO makes a cheap knockoff. They might be ok too.

The blue fuel line I've been using stays flexible, it just turns green. The bent fuel filters are what concerns me.

Debby, I use the same filters you show and haven't had those particular filters break. They just bend like and I still use them until replacement time comes.

Ditto on automotive fuel injection hose; the stuff is engineered for flex fuel and up to 100 psi. As stated it has a silicone inner liner surrounded by reinforced conventional black fuel line. Not transparent though.
