As I'm going to fit a new (ebay) tank , that hopefully will be ethanol resistant I have the problem that the tank has silver logos and pinlines . Should be gold!! Possible anyone knows where to get identical logos ? Very carefully put on , on top of the originals and the tank clear lacquered would be preferable to a complete respray. Don't have an endless money pit ! Roy. Pretty please ?

Perhaps Norton should have done the tank correctly in the first place ? But that's in the past. I'll still look for logos at first. Thanks anyway, Roy.

Decals from here.

Would be difficult to align well - the pinstripe is not easily manipulated.

May do as a temporary measure until you can get it repainted.

Thanks Stephen, I've been in touch with them today. If I can get the original decals then saves repainting , relaquering obviously! Could also look for an old school sign writer? Unlikely. Roy.

Just to reiterate what Stu said above, I think your plan is a big mistake and will end up costing more in the long run. I don't mean any offence by saying this and just offering advice from past experience.

I'd either live with silver badges or do it properly. Any cosmetic stuff that's SO obvious like the tank on these bikes needs to be done properly or you'll regret it everytime you look at it.

All options still open . Airborne available. Needs tlc but I could do it. However I also have an Oberon clutch slave in gold , hmmm ? I'll wait and see how the anti ethanol lining process goes !! Ps , Duration tanks state recycling codes on tanks. Does Norton ? See attached, Roy.

Down to personal preference Roy and what/when ya wanna spend of course. My guess also (FWIW), that you’ll eventually wanna resolve the original colour scheme - Dream Machine are a great option. Expensive though obviously.

I have those same decal pinstripes/logo on my ally tank. They look OK (from a distance) but will get ditched as soon as I resolve a paint scheme - until then they’ll do. In the immortal words of my favourite band …. “If you choose not to decide you still have made a choice”. That’s my procrastinators moto anyway!!

The gold clutch slave is another personal choice issue. Seen it once and thought it stood out like a dog’s danglies in a cat cafe! None of this stops you riding the beauty though👍. Enjoy - summer’s only 6 months away!😂

I see you're based in the UK. Why the worry about ethanol? E5 is easily found in the UK so shouldn't be a problem and what the tank is designed for. Maybe I'm missing something

Not a drop has been spilled on it ! I had an H120 rapier some years ago. I rebuilt it with fibreglass wings and it was professionally resprayed. Its paint did exactly the same about 10 years later. No E5 or 10 involved but the result was identical! Unlucky white Heather as they say in skye !!! Will do all possible to stop a repeat performance . One knowledgeable friend says it happened to his car , caused by his neighbours cat pissing on it ??? That's for someone with a chemistry background. Roy.
