I have the proper clutch removal tool and was using it today. It seemed to work ok. I compressed the clutch center and was having problems with getting the circlip out. So I took it the clutch compress off and was going to compress it again. Then I noticed that my clutch center is way off center. Part of it is higher. When I put the clutch compressor on now only two of the legs are compressing. The other two are not touching because it so uneven I'm not sure what happened and how to fix it. I would post a photo but not sure how on this site. Also is there any tips on getting that circlip out?

It's possible the circlip is partway out. Be very careful! I would wear some thick leather gloves, heavy jacket, and a full-face helmet before proceeding any further. See technical-information-how-post-photos-t2357.html about two-thirds of the way down for info on how to post images. Without a picture for verification, it sounds like the puller bolt may have threaded up against the clutch center shaft, then rolled off the side. I use the clutch adjuster lock nut to set the puller bolt against the clutch center so that it then forces the puller nut to do the compressing without the bolt threading in deeper.

I would try backing the bolt out of the clutch spring center, but the threads may then be so buggered as to require a new clutch spring. Time will tell...

Compress the diaphragm only enough so as to rotate freely behind the spring clip. Keep testing when winding the nut while keeping the bolt from spinning. Once it is free, then remove the clutch spring circlip.

You don't compress the clutch center with the clutch tool. You remove the clutch rod adjuster screw (with it's locknut) then thread the shaft of the compression tool into the clutch center and use the lock nut on the compression tool's shaft to lock the shaft to the clutch center. Then you hold the shaft from turning with the shaft's top nut with a 3/4 wrench while you turn the nut on the outside of the compression tool downward so it "PULLS" the clutch center out and compresses the diaphram, which unloads it...

You'll know you've unloaded the diaphram sufficiently when it spins in place without dragging on the circlip. At that point it's safe to pry the circlip out and remove the clutch with the compression tool attached.

I can rotate the diaphragm. Like I said the center is way crooked. Is there any tips on getting the circlip out. In the photo you can see just two of the legs are compressing.

I'm afraid you've stretched the spring so far that the center has pulled loose of the fingers. I don't think there's any recovering from that. Since you can turn the spring independently from the circlip, you should be able to get the clip out. It may have gotten twisted in its groove and require some "muscling".

I think you over tightened it. The center hub should have all the fingers of the diaphragm still in their slots.
Not good.

I will look tomorrow in the light to see about the fingers are in. I thought I was about a quarter of the way in with the puller. Now my big question is how do I get it off?

yes

you overdid it, you tightened the nut way to much and now have inverted it

but fear not, for I have done that and recovered from it

only thing you can do is turn the nut the other way and try to get the circlip out somehow

with the clip out you can just remove the tool and clutch spring and then more easily but still patiently fiddly turning the nut to get it bowed back to flat and then the other way, it can be done!

If you list your location maybe someone can come over and help you. You need help before you hurt yourself.

Holy crap, screw that thing back in before someone gets hurt. Hopefully you haven't trashed your diaphragm by over springing it.

It only take a turn or 2 to free it up enough to remove the ring. I am afraid you have gone waaaay beyond the point of safety.

I cannot help thinking that you have taken the term "Clutch Diaphragm Removal tool" a little too literally. :) :P
