Never had girls... Did raise Wifey's niece through much of her early teen years though. The problem was her being an uncommonly attractive girl. You can take it from there pretty much.... ran many of those dirty wannabe man creatures away which I considered unsuitable. Proud to have helped cull because I love her as my own.... Norton is only 3 years older too.

Roger that Rick. Charlotte is 20 now and my step daughter Isabel is also. I’ve wanted to shoot at least one suitor. Do you think the 72 will be ready for the National?
It may be - I am sending the tins out next week to a custom painter rather than wait till June for my buddy. The painter is also going to take care of the tank liner for me so that is one more thing off my plate. He believes it will be about a month so looking like mid April . While waiting I hope to finish up the exhaust which I have yet to order. Need to install center stand and side stand.
I am making up rods/ wingnuts for battery hold down to get rid of the dodgy elastic bit - should be complete over the weekend.
I have a temporary fuel bottle so once I complete the exhaust it will be time to try and light it up - fingers crossed.
Even if it is complete I would likely bring my ES2 to the INOA rally as it is a little more unusual and my trailer only holds one bike - we’ll see .

Rainy day here at the Jersey Shore - feeling lazy so I began totaling my receipts for the Commando goodies to establish a value for the insurance company - a little nervous before I hit the total button but not as bad as I thought it might be .

It concerns your Norton so to keep it in the proper context remember that its only money and your Norton required it.

Finished up a few things over the weekend . Tank , seat cowl and side covers shipped to BD's Cycles for paint - Bryan has received them safe and sound which is a relief in spite of the totally anal packing job I spent a few hours on.
All rubbers installed - grips, footrests , gear change and kickstart . Brakes done - front hydraulic system bled and operational after a comedy of errors including knocking over an expensive bottle of brake fluid ( note evidence on shop floor ) and receiving a splash of same in both eyes when the Monoject syringe suddenly decided to move while burping it , ricocheting fluid off the low shop ceiling into my eyes. 20 minuits of water flushing in the sink followed by two bottles of CVS eye wash and I think I will survive . The best part is I am alone this weekend and had to feel my way out of the shop and up the stairs to the sink blindly - be careful gents with what you do - this one was a nasty surprise and I am a very cautious person .
I also made up the battery hold down with rods & wingnuts to replace the elastic bands.

Just received an e mail saying exhaust system arrives tomorrow which is Monday . Another tip of the hat then to RGM - I ordered it on Wednesday .
Cheers -RT

Looking Great Richard.
Glad you're OK. Could have been much worse.

yet another shout out to RGM - as if ordering exhaust system from across the pond on Wednesday and having it on my doorstep Monday morning wasn't reason enough for praise - I found this in the package as well . Amazing - how did they know I have no hair and my head gets cold ?

They read this thread and saw you had a real affinity for low profile domes!

They don’t need to. They just work on the law of averages and make a (pretty safe) assumption that it’ll be appropriate!

I had one once. But the kids nicked it and lost it.

I had a cool cNw baseball cap once too, but the dog ate it (honestly).

So now I just have a cold head...

I shall make no comment on someone's missing follicles because but for the grace of God there go I..... Besides it is only a cooling system for highly active brains.... Hence my head full of hair.... Enjoy that one for free.

Not so.

As I explain to my kids, if someone is so super intelligent that their brain outgrows their skull, the brain rubs on the inside of the skull and kills off the hair roots.

And that’s a fact.

Just don’t add up your time Rick. I have all of my receipts in a folder, never to be examined unless to check whether I replaced a part. The battery hold down looks great and your z plates are perfect.

Some more progress - center stand fitted but not without a fight . The radiused top of the stand itself was catching on the spring tang where it inserts in the gearbox cradle and dislodging it. Had to rework the spring as well as reprofiling the stand radius.
Also , the choo choo now has its smoke stacks - exhausts fitted.

Now need to charge battery , add lubricants to primary and oil tank , prime rocker feeds and rig up temporary fuel bottle . looks like we will be home bound for a bit so I may try to light it up next
week - fingers crossed .

From time to time there are a lot of threads on here about exhausts, poor quality chrome, not fitting properly, etc.

How did your RGM pipes fit Richard and wadya think to them so far?
