Railway detonator / fog signal - box of 10
Supplied in boxes of 10. Otherwise known as fog signals, these are small explosive devices used to warn drivers to stop immediately as a major hazard is further up the track. On trains, approximately twelve detonators are usually carried in a secure location in the driver's cab. They have an...therailwayshop.co.uk
Yes the automotive industry have made significant improvements to emissions over the last few decades to reduce smog .....let's just hope the owners of the farms that feed our nations people are not thrown off their land because of nitrogen fertilizer levels and or cow fart emissions ...Unless reconstituted meat etc is tempting to your paletteUS Route 50 goes basically coast to coast. One end is Ocean City, MD and the other is Sacramento, CA. I used to use it in Arlington and Fairfax counties when I still went to my office. On a sunny 95-degree Virginia day, my car would report the temperature at 115-125 depending on the time of day and as soon as I got off Rt 50, it would drop to 95.
That road is 3073 miles long and at least two lanes but in some areas eight or more lanes wide and mostly asphalt. Forget cow farts and the like - that road alone heats the environment along with millions of exhaust pipes using it daily. This country has lots of 2000 to 3000 miles long roads.
Somewhere between the climate left and right radicals is the truth.
In the early 70s the left and right radicals were waring over pollution controls and leaded gas. I like many thought the government was going overboard with their clean air requirements for cars. At the time, I was a copier technician. In late summer the air in DC was terrible and I often walked from my car to the customer locations holding my tie over my mouth and nose to breath. Today, the smog is gone even though there are AT LEAST twice as many cars in the area. I still think the car companies could have achieved the result without so much interference, but the air is clean.
Climate change is a fact. Global Warming is a fact. Is it or does it have to be doom and gloom - nope - will people do anything about it without being forced - probably not
Earth's Population in 1522 was approximately 400-500 millionI find it curious that the global warming alarmists cannot substantiate their claims of warming anymore, and have been forced to resort to "climate change" hysteria. Yet they continue to harp on reducing CO2 as the means to "control" climate change.
FACT: the theory that CO2 raises atmospheric temperature came from an experiment conducted decades ago by researchers who irradiated a glass box with a lid on it, and found the temperature of the air inside the box rose to some elevated temperature (common greenhouse effect). They then admitted a small amount of CO2, and found the temperature to rise further. From this, they then declared increasing CO2 in the earth's atmosphere will raise atmospheric temperature. This theory, to be true for the earth's atmosphere , requires the earth's atmosphere to behave like a glass box with a lid on it. Lately, more and more scientists expert in thermodynamics, myself included, are calling this assumption to be invalid. End of fact
From the recorded history of the past several millenia, the earth's temperature has been cycling every 500 years, or so. Could this be attributed to the heavy outer planets aligning themselves on one side of the solar system, and tugging the earth's orbit a little nearer or further from the sun depending on the location of the earth relative to the gathering of heavy planets? If so, we are deluding ourselves to think we can nullify climate change, especially by targeting CO2.
A high school student, and a computer program that can model the position of the planets in the solar system for any date past or present, can test the hypothesis above.
Slick
In the same way that a few days of hot weather this summer in the UK does not prove the Climate is warming too fast then a record snowfall event does not prove the opposite either.CALGARY

Couldn't agree more.Whether or not climate change is real or caused by humans is certainly open for debate. What is certain, however, is that the US Federal government spending trillions of dollars to change the climate will accomplish absolutely nothing more than further enriching the elite class who actually run the country. Probably also goes for other governments around the globe.
I had a chimney fire in a house I rented once. An old unlined fireplace rock chimney with a piece of sheet aluminum across the bottom and an air tight wood stove piped into it. I opened the stove door to feed it before going to bed and the fun started. As you said, sounds like a 747 taking off. The fire dept. came, got up on the roof with an old flat iron on a chain and started knocking the burning creosote down into the fireplace. Two guys at the bottom shoveled the stuff out of the fireplace into a bucket and took it outside. The chimney was never as clean as it was after the fire. One thing they pointed out as they left was that the walls surrounding the chimney would get warmer before they got any cooler and to keep an eye on things till then. Made for a sleepless night for sure.Really? I have pictures... Worst case is a masonry chimney which acts as a wind tunnel, temps of the burning creosote rocket upward and the chimney with it thereby igniting the surrounding woodwork. Most houses in the USA are wooden. The sound
alone of a chimney fire makes a 747 sound docile. It might just burn itself out but then the clay tile liner will likely be cracked just
waiting to leak and yes, burn down your house.
Here's the deal with these bikes.THE CARBON FOOTPRINT OF GREEN ENERGY
Four times a week on average, a e-bike or e-scooter battery catches fire in New York City.
"These bikes when they fail, they fail like a blowtorch," said Dan Flynn, the chief fire marshal at the New York Fire Department. "We've seen incidents where people have described them as explosive — incidents where they actually have so much power, they're actually blowing walls down in between rooms and apartments."
As of Friday, the FDNY investigated 174 battery fires, putting 2022 on track to double the number of fires that occurred last year (104) and quadruple the number from 2020 (44).
So far this year, six people have died in e-bike-related fires and 93 people were injured.
And we have these clownshows that want to electrify everything to ‘protect’ people from climate change.
How many people should allow to be burnt to death under the delusion that we are ‘saving them’ from climate change ?
We may have a few gerry cans ...soon we will be lucky to fill them...Here's the deal with these bikes.
They are used almost exclusively as work bikes by low income delivery workers, are poorly maintained and often kept indoors (illegally).
Imagine 15 dirty, overheated and damaged batteries piled on top of one another in a small room inside a shared apartment. Would you keep 15 full gas cans inside you're apartment?
I think electric bikes are silly because they are not replacing "dirty" cars, but regular human powered bicycles.
By the way, cars kill close to 300 people a year in NYC.... But that's not the agenda you're pushing is it?
