I bought a '74 750GT back about 1992. Rode and enjoyed it for a good many years and only ever had one problem, layshaft bearing went out. I was told that due to it's high placement in the case it was very important to keep the oil topped up. Be that as it may, it was one of the easiest bikes to work on I've owned. Replacing that bearing was a piece of cake. Though I checked valve clearance regularly, I think I only actually had to change shims twice in 11 years I owned it. It was a comfortable bike to travel on, and handling was effortless. 400-500 mile days were no problem. I pretty much quit riding it when I bought a new Moto Guzzi in 2000 and sold it in 2003. Overall, it was a fun, dependable, and very low maintenance bike. Easy to live with.
