What's happening at Norton? Sale to TVS, massive investment, new bikes...

Any delay just means they'll be making the 961 for longer, good news for current owners.. better spares availability in the future and sadly more bikes in the breakers..

Though if I was Norton releasing their first model(s) at a relatively small show like Motorcycle Live wouldn't be ideal, as EICMA was too soon. Perhaps having a separate launch in the spring, as they did for the revamped 961 would be seen by Norton as a better option. Particularly as it gives more time to build a distribution network outside of the UK etc.

Looks like KTM are starting to take real action - hopefully itā€™s enough to keep them afloat.

No real impact on Norton but the downturn in sales that contributed to KTMā€™s woes is no doubt of concern.

Sorry to mention politics but the World Economic Forum wants everyone off the road. Regardless!!

Quite.

There is no need for mass transportation under serfdom.

The ability to travel = freedom. Think about that when you think about how freedom of travel is coming under increased scrutiny.

Same with regards to speech.

Nuff said.

Nuff said? Yes, definitely politics, so a no go area here I think.

As youā€™ve had your say though - we maybe shouldā€™nt assume that these beliefs are commonly held. The conspiracy fodder/ rhetoric surrounding the WEF et al went waaaaay beyond the patently ridiculous years ago. Might fly in The Pub thoughšŸ¤£!

How long it will take is as long as a piece of string and many wonā€™t approve, but the new Nortons WILL be electric.
They have said theyā€™re launching a collection of ICE models firstā€¦

Although prior to that they sited focusing on EV as the reason for cancelling the Atlas range !

My money is on new ICE coming first though, there are too many years left with ICE still being dominant for them to ignore.

At least Honda have stuck their head above the parapet with the V3 ICE annd electric supercharger.
Bring it on!

Yes, but they are unlikely to be new ICE bikes owing to the development costs & time. My money is on more of a restyling and badging exercise on non-Nortons A Cosworth-Norton electric bike would sit nicely next to my iX however.

Nothing really new from Papa Smurf in his vid above, but an interesting roundup.

Again, not sure about the sales figures from his source - suspect the 961 figure is higher. They also donā€™t include the last 6 months sales (24 Q3/Q4). Theyā€™re obviously not as high as Norton would like though, or these latest finance deals wouldnā€™t be in play.

New bikes in 25? In the balance now maybe - but surely timing is all important in this game. There would still need to be a marketing build up period prior to release. UK based launch, independent of the usual show cercuit as some have pondered? All we got is speculation - building expectation or frustration?šŸ™ƒ Take yer pick!!

The recent finance deal has certainly triggered a lot of interest in the 961. Over on Piston Heads (massive UK based forum), a thread is running with new buyers and those taking test rides etc. Might be interesting to read as the users are those that Norton are aiming for...
Quite a bit of interest there.
A few detractors, a few fans, some just curious.
And comparison to the Morgan too.
Thanks for sharing the link.
