Hi,

I've broken one of the fuel line spigots. Has anyone repaired one of these before? Is there pressure going through this spigot? Can the broken part be glued back on somehow? Or maybe there are other ideas. Just want to find out if it can be repaired before buying a new assembly. Thanks.

With the hoses pulling on them, and the ethanol in the fuel, a glued joint will not last.

The replacements are metal

British Cycle Supply out of Canada have them on the shelf.

Junk it and get a new one
Do you have any Brit bike shops near you?
They'll have plenty of used metal ones no doubt

Fuel lines get hard and stiff with age. This puts a transverse load on the banjo. Fatigue caused mine to break, but fatigue could be a hidden factor, causing the banjo to break easily on external ipact.
Repair is very difficult. Why bother - the item is inexpensive, and with a new one the fatigue factor is reset.

Make sure you have flexible fuel lines - replace lines as needed.

They are cheap replacements, replace both carbs with new ones, remember they are 50 years old, I am still running with my original ones but I use flexible rubber fuel lines, they don't get affected by age or go hard.

Like robss, I have used Tygon for years and have never had a problem with it.Plus you don’t have to use hose clamps and if you search you can find it in various colors.

To be safe, I use a very small electrical tie.
Cheers

OP is in Ontario, so Walridge is a good in province brit bike supplier for him. They do carry lots of commando specific parts.

My advice, take carbs fully apart for proper cleaning and inspection...good chance you will need more components at very least, if not completely new carbs. Then make your order lists up.

Andover Norton sells the whole fuel line assembly for 38 pounds sterling
That's going to be $80+ CAD before another $30 shipping and $15-30 tax and brokerage fees...vs maybe $15 worth of fuel hose and clamps a local auto stores.unless combiming with other Andover parts....it is a pretty high cost for a fuel line assembly

He also needs new spigots - one of his broke and the other is probably on the way out.
