Omex ECU Unlocking/Remapping

I have a 2016 MKII Sport fitted with the Omex ECU - Dealer fitted de-cat X Pipe and Short open silencers. Having done all the relevant upgrades and sensor changes over time, I'm still not 100% happy with the running below 3000rpm and have always doubted if the ECU was remapped by the dealer during the silencer/x pipe fitment.

I'm looking for information on unlocking, and or remapping of my Omex ECU ??
 
I have heard that OMEX is not talking directly to 961 owners because of the Norton relationship. Your problem really sounds like to me the O2 sensors are still on the bike ? All Euro 3 bikes can make use of the O2 sensor delete plugs if you have not tried this. The running below 3000 , and slightly above were always not ideal when running with the O2 sensors. Coote's can do a OMEX Euro 3 or SC remap . PM Richard-7 . Also ,you can PM BlightyBrit/SF he has experience with OMEX Euro 3 O2 sensor delete plugs and is from UK .

This is almost identical to the faults I have on my bike 2016 MK2.
Lands sensors have disconnected but because of the lockdown have been unable to test.
SCS Delta can replace Omex with a Delta 400!
For about a £1000.

Bloody predictive txt!!
 
Yep can vouch for the doing away with the lamda sensors , just plug them off under the tank with those ment for an Aprillia, I left the sensors in the exhaust.
Smoothed it right out , I did have 02 sensors fail b4 & that made bike run Rich & was well juicy, nothing happened in rev range below 30mph ,bike ran like a 2 stroke with the wrong jets in once u put expansions on ( from 40 years ago on an RD that was )

Forgot to mention that bike was fine until it threw a wobbly in the intense heat in Austria, stuck in traffic and about 30 degrees.
5000 miles.
Head temp. sensor changed and idle control valve changed.
Made no difference.
 
What was it doing ? High Idle ? Or varying idle high to low , back to high oscillating ? I think you said 2016 so an Euro 3 OMEX ecu ? And after it cooled down OK again ? Do you have the heat insulator between throttle body and head ? So 30 C = 86 F not too hot ? A lot of stopped traffic ? If you are running in that kind of heat you may want to run the 150 C head temp sensor and throttle body insulator for sure . Right now Norton specific parts will be difficult to get but hopefully not impossible. I hate to keep saying this but my problems are resolved with my changes : Throttle body insulator , 150 C head temp sensor , 20W50 oil , NAIS valve . The hot or all weather fixes .

Switched it off at hotel & let it cool down overnight,all seemed fine then at some traffic lights as if a switch had been flicked bike started to hunt,
1200 rpm then up to 1800rpm, very embarrassing.
If the ignition was switched off it went back to normal for a few miles then it would repeat the fault.

Omex
Remember Max the Norton engineer,
he told me,
With ignition on disconnect the ECU earth lead then the cylinder barrel earth lead.
Switch off ignition and reconnect leads,
This worked for a good few miles then the fault re-occurred.

Is the throttle body insulator an after market part!
 
I have the 02 sensors removed and the resistors fitted. I did see an improvement, but not to what I would expect. There is a hesitation around 3000 rpm which then pulls cleanly after that. The left hand cylinder spark plug appears richer also. As I live in Scotland, my first option might be sending my Omex ECU to a Norton dealer for a proper remapping, before considering investing in an SCS Delta 400 ?

Can’t remember where I read this, but it worked on the couple of occasions I tried it when mine had gotten particularly hot and bothered:

1. Switch ign off.
2. Switch ign on but do not start.
3. Open throttle fully and then close.
4. Switch ign off.
5. Switch ign on and start engine as normal.

I’m not sure what this does, maybe resets the TPS or similar? But it’s easy to try, harmless, and worked for me.

It’s what we called a teach in or resetting the parameters .Parts can wear and drift out of calibration.
Most times you need to be plugged in.
Laptop.
