My 2016 model 961 Sport MKII had the de-cat x-pipe and short open silencers dealer fitted at 500 miles, supposedly combined with the relevant ecu re-mapping. I have fitted various well documented modifications, and the bike has improved with each step, but I still feel it could run a lot better below 3000 rpm. I have over 1500 miles on the clock, and would like to know and how to check if I have the proper ecu fuel map installed. Unfortunately the original dealer is no longer a Norton dealer, and judging by the initial poor service they provided to me I have my doubts as to whether I had the proper ecu fuel map installed.
 
If you have your doubts about the quality of the dealers work, then if I were in your shoes I would send the bike back to Norton for a full service, check over and re-map check / updgrade.
 
Unfortunately the bike is now out of warranty. Is there a way of checking which map is installed in the ecu, or is this a process only available by the Norton factory ?
 
I don’t know how to check the map, maybe someone else does...

But my advice wasn’t linked to warranty, it is still the course of action I’d take personally.
 
The software supplied to the dealers should be able to query the ECU and find a match. It may not find a match like mine did not. Then you choose the appropriate map for your ECU and setup and download it. Any Norton dealer can do this for you .
 
I've had my SC ECU unlocked, so I can read all the ECU variables and make changes, and I haven't found anything to identify which map is loaded. The previous owner told me that the bike had a map update when the South Bay silencers were installed, but I've not been able to find out which one it was by looking at the ECU data. There is a space in the "ECU Configuration" variables for a software ID and a calibration ID, but they are blank. I think it is pretty much like TonyA said. If the dealer software can't identify it, they can at least install whatever version the factory recommends for your configuration. I don't know what they charge, but it's a very simple operation if you have the connecting cable, software, and files that Norton supplies to their dealers.

Matt Capri of South Bay was recommending 90/91 to go with the pipes that they designed/sold. That's what he told me on the phone. That's the only map that proved fairly reliable. Came with 76, then 77 installed. Both horrid. 91 is what I use.
 
Book in at factory for a service & ask them to do any latest mods on bike, take a few days off & leave it with them ,they know more about than any dealer,cant be much wrong & as it’s so new, best place to go

I haven't had my SC ECU unlocked (thinking about it) but I can see the map info at the top left of the display:

What was the name of the dealer/whereabouts?
