Yes, very happy so far Simon, so many thanks to you and your team for all the hard work.

Of course, I’ll keep my fingers crossed that things stay this way!

One quick question regarding the EVAP removal: rather than just cap off the long pipe to the injector body, I assume I could instead remove the hose completely and cap off the take off point?

Well, it took you long enough. For years I've been watching you chime in, then go buy a beemer. siiiigh. Do you get it now?? As for nuetral, in most cases I can drop it in from the top, not having to bottom out and click back up. I still have some minor problems with my 13, but it runs. And when it runs...I'm a happy man.:D Enjoy it, Nigel. I'm sure you can do a lot more with that bike than I can.

You don't need to cross your fingers.
Just be guided by the beautiful Italian girl friend analogy:

When things are right, it's Heaven.
When things go wrong, it's Hell.

I think the 961's beautiful qualities will grow on you, as has happen for mostly all of us who own one.

Cheers.

Italian girlfriend analogy eh, not sure I could use that when describing it to my non Italian wife!

Anyway, had another very short spin today. Now, I’m sure this is the kinda this I’d just get used to, and most probably not worth the bother. But...

What about the rear brake master cylinder guys? It reminds me of the air filter on a Harley, always pushing your leg out, except it’s your ankle on the Norton.

I notice that some Dreer prototypes had the master cylinder mounted low, and horizontal. That actually looks a far better layout to me.

Might have to have a think about re locating.

Or I might just get used to it!

The brake master played havoc with my right foot placement but now it's gone it makes a huge difference. My 'prosthetic' leg holds the pegs and the knee tucks in nicely to the tank. I will be looking to come up with some home made rear sets this Summer but will be easy for me as I only have to shift the gear change linkage and not the brake.

Here are some pics a friend of mine took yesterday at the Swiss Moto...

He didn’t take a pic of the V4o_O

I did, and was very impressed with what I could see...

Apparently Stuart Garner was there on Saturday.

Thanks for the pics gentlemen.
V4 looks like a masterpiece of metal work.

Wow. I'm not into crotch rockets much, but that V4 is outrageous. I was going to be a weisenheimer and say its ok your friend didn't take photos. We can wait for the V4 forum to open up, but I'm glad you posted those pics.

My pleasure. I have to say, I was really impressed with the attention to detail on all the parts I could see.

Slightly off topic, sorry gentlemen. But Phil (is it Bennett) hope you're watching the match this weekend. Back on topic, tell us about your bike, what model, colour and where from.

I'm in Cardiff, hoping for delivery mid March
Yes I did watch the Rugby, enough on that topic

A word of caution re: 50th billet mirrors. Whatever you do, do not use your old t-shirt rags to clean the mirror glass, no matter how clean your rags are and how clean the mirror looks.... the glass is far too soft and the cotton will scratch it to bits. I say this having finished going over both mirrors with 2500grit wet'n'dry to get rid of the deeper scratches and finishing off with an ultra soft cotton cloth and polishing compound. I think I have found these mirrors on the market, they look near identical to MotoGadget ones and retail at £99 a piece so not cheap!

Mine picked up this morning and taken back to the factory for pipes and de-cat which hopefully will get it running as it should. Looking forward to the new sound and running. Still 115 miles only so probably falling behind you March riders but hope to catch you up soon after I get it back.

Pleased that you will finally be able to get it running right. Report please as soon as it's back!!!!!

#19 , oil non-return valve still exists between oil cooler and oil pump return side on new bikes. Remember this if draining your oil on the oil cooler side.
