Just looked at the RK website - do use GXW or ZXW?Regina or RK Racing from Jason the chain man in the UK
I believe these are the ones that Glen has recommend previously:Just looked at the RK website - do use GXW or ZXW?

No - just a bit concerned by the "rubber hairs".What your chain worn out already Rob.
Thanks for that - I remember seeing that now.I believe these are the ones that Glen has recommend previously:
UWV Chain - RK EUROPE

I made up a 520 conversion for my T140 bonnie about 10 years ago and used a DID VX (I think?) chain. Great results but struggled fitting the supplied split link as it had a much stronger spring clip and tighter clearances with the loose o rings. They recommended a riveted link anyway as I recall. Thanks for that - I remember seeing that now.
It's funny - the RK (Japan) website makes no mention of that chain...
ON ROAD | RK JAPAN
STANDARD CHAIN Cold Forged Seamless Bush standard chain. Economical and reliable for daily use. [table id=1001 /] HEAVY DUTY CHAIN Great performance with economical range chain for everyday's heavy duty use. [table id=1002 /]global.rk-japan.co.jp
Some of the RK's come with a clip option.I made up a 520 conversion for my T140 bonnie about 10 years ago and used a DID VX (I think?) chain. I see that RK chain comes with a riveted link, how does that work with a puncture and tubed tyres? Do you sealed chain guys use a split link, and what type?
I'd like to fit something like that RK chain when I regear the commando when I fit the RGM belt drive very soon.
Sorry, didn't want to derail the thread. In terms of chain lube, I give the aforementioned T140 the very occasional shot of o ring compatible chain lube and no appreciable wear, can't recall having ever adjusted it (beyond bed-in) or any visible wear on the sprockets. That's in I'd guess 4000 miles? Of course most of our classic bikes get very dry usage and are putting out very low power compared to almost any modern, both of which help chain life hugely. Some of the RK's come with a clip option.
I have a 520 on my bike - actually DID VX. My concerns about it shedding rubber hairs is the reason for this thread.
The UVW advised by Glen apparently only is available as 530.
True, true Mart, on a Commando! Not on a T140 though, horrible job . Will have to try Mexico Mike's method above!Chain and sprocket stay on the dummy axle when you remove the rear wheel.
