Yes , my 2 Canadian MK 111 's are ign. only , in key position 3.
I only use position 3 for initial start up ( Clutch lever in of course ) . The pilot light has been eliminated , ( as well as the problematic kill switch ) .
Once warmed up and ready to go the switch goes to position 4 , full lighting .
Mind you , I suspect both P.O.'s have played with the electrics , but I'm O.K. with the result.
The law here in Canada is lights on at all times . But I was told a while back that pre 1970 vehicles are exempt from daytime running of headlights.
Light it up like a Christmas tree .
