Tools You Have Made to Maintain your Norton

Clever, can you share the design details? Perhaps we could organize a group buy ?:D
Nope I won't share any design details but I will tell this
The rubber band absolutely must be made from the rubber from a rubber tree
Those man made rubber ones just will not work

I am a finger man myself never had any problem doing it by the book;)

for R&R the kickstart spring I use a thin and very common nylon string available anywhere ( I call it surveyor's string ) and form a loop about 10" long.
First connect the spring into the kickstart shaft then, with the loop doubled to form a 5" loop, catch the other end of the spring and pull it around to it's stopping point. Makes the job simple and quick.

You must be one good knot man to hog tie 4 pushrod up with one elastic band
Not exactly sure what you mean ? But just incase I'll explain,
I invert the head then place the pushrods into the rocker arms
I twist the band in and out of the pushrods and loop the band around the outer holding down studs
Then I lower the head until it's almost down and the rods are located top and bottom
And I pull the elastic band out with some long nosed pliers
No hog tying

The picture is of a tool that I wish I had for the last 53 years! I didn't make it - an ingenious forum member did. Any guesses what it's for? If your lucky enough that he gave you one don't tell. It is not obvious and at first I couldn't tell how to use it, but it's WAY better than any of the various methods I've used over the years to get the job done. Yes, it's made form stainless. After a few guesses, I'll show it in action.

Valve tool to remove collets............??????

No, I probably should have given a clue about the size. The ID of the tube portion is quite a bit smaller than you're thinking.
