Richard, are your pipes chrome? Love the blueing and the fact they’ve not gone that straw / brown colour like stainless normally does.
It looks like a British Bike !
Yes. Chrome in 2014. Newer bikes have stainless.
Wow, Richard. Those header flange bolts look new. Mine are a rusty mess. I even spray them with S100 corrosion inhibitor. Doesn't work.
Hmm..... as far as I am aware they are stainless. But perhaps depends on the year. I don’t spray oil to keep rust away. Only spray wd40 to clean the dirt off of them.
I'm constantly in a salt water environment and ride a lot in the winter when they spread ice melt on the roads. I try to keep up with the corrosion, although its a losing battle. I even take a soft brass brush to the cooling fins to brush off that pitting. Nope.Hmm..... as far as I am aware they are stainless. But perhaps depends on the year. The look alone would make me want to change them out. Stainless nuts and Maybe a touch of anti-seize on the threads too ? That salt air is slowly corroding your bike . Are your neighbors bikes doing the same thing ? I know that washing the residue off after a ride in ocean air is supposed to help greatly. Does anybody know of a product that can be sprayed on to help this ? Like LPS 3 ? That's what we used in the Navy to control the avionics corrosion on the jets . LPS 3
