THIS is about One Inch taller than the one in THAT . Anyone got a hacksaw ? .

Was actually one of these , I used a stick on . Mightve been only 3/4 . Might even go in uncut .

What is the engine ? Are you building a single cylinder racer ? How many gears are there in that motor ? That is usually the limiting factor.

The engine at the top is a 1594 cc Triumph Thunderbird unit

Putting one in either a 1100F or HRC endurance racer would be odd at best.

Did Triumph stupidly take a former (Meriden) model name, paste it on newer (Hinkley) triples, then rip it off and duct tape it to one of their newest twins?

...apparently, they did.

I'm so confused...

Yep they did do that sadly
I think it's done to confuse people and to make some sort of link between meriden built bikes and thaiumph built bikes
It confuses the hipster's anyway!!!

At least my 93 Trident 900 was a near approximation of the early ones, unlike the latest offering.

I like my Legend 900 triple, it's got grunt and handles very smooth. Biggest problems it ever had was the plastic bit on the ignition trigger cracked and the engine died FLAT, then the coils started flaking out. As this was a well-documented failure mode, I had purchased a set of replacement coils in anticipation, several years ago, so it was very quick swap.

I’ve just checked it’s history on gov. website.

October 1993, it’s now at 38000 miles, still taxed and MOT’d and never had an advisory or fail as far back as I can check. it’s good to know it’s still around.

My mate has a sprint of the same vintage
I can remember riding it at the time thinking how good it was
Power delivery, handling , brakes etc even the fairing was good
And I don't like fairings

L750PRW just imagine if it’s the same bike!

mine wasn’t a sprint, but I fitted a lookalike fairing made by Sprint. And the MOT now says it is a Sprint, how strange.

yes it was fast, handling and brakes were average. I did manage to set a new record in Easter 1995 for the fastest non-stop end to end and return, Lands End- John O’Groats - Lands End. 1872 miles in 32 hours.

I asked my wife what to do at Easter, she said why not go for a ride? What other reason do you need?

looks like youd only need a big tyre lever , a black & decker , and a few bolts :p
to drop the T - Bird engine in this chassis .Tho RCB replica chassis might exist ? .

If you had a T - Bird engine lying around, anyway . seem to be plenty on E Bay .

Put the boot in & its bound to fit up in there . Might need to trim a few fings . er, Fins .

Wonder how the engine / O.A. weight goes .

This'n' that .
