The workforce, is this happening everywhere?

We are all doomed I worked hard all my life 45 years on basic low wages, but in todays times young ones want high wages to be able to get a head, plenty of work on farms but farmers don't want to pay good money to bust your guts out all day in the fields for crap money and import third world works who will work for low pay, no employer want to put people on full time as it be harder to get rid of them when they are not any good, the GOV fudges the unemployment figues if you only work a few hours a week you are classed as employed, people on basic wages can't afford to buy a house, and rental cost are going through the roof, real estate agent putting the rent up without the owners permission and no one can no longer save money as cost of living has gone way out of control, everyone is paying for bad GOV decisions, the rich get richer and the GOV keep draining the pockets of the working class man to pay for their mistakes, my daughter wants to work but when she goes for jobs and they find out she suffers Eplisy they don't want to know her and if the family don't earn more than $120k a year there be no chance of ever getting a loan for a house and then you get the young ones who just want a free ride and think they are hard done by.
Life is hard and its getting harder, the GOV keep blaming everyone else for their mistakes, we have a new GOV now in Aus and they have a big mess to clean up from 10 years of bad mistakes, but I can't see anything changing, there is still money around but the average person don't have it and the sink hole is getting bigger and more people are getting tossed out of their rentals because greedy RE agents and high cost for houses, people are living in tents and cars because they have no where else to go and its not only in my own country its happening everywhere, we are a rich country but we aren't any good at looking after our own people.
Our GOV and businesses sold out to countries with cheaper labour cost, now its come back to bite them on the rear end and not spending the money to skill up our own workforce and we are importing stuff that is crap and don't last.
As I say we are all doomed from pass mistakes.

I can't afford it the GOV keep putting the excise tax up every 6 months on ALC, Beer, and anything else that we like and the only other people making money are the drug dealers, beside the TAX man.

Well to be honest I’m a middle of the road guy closer to the right but I swear we should have NHS type thing and I’ll gladly step left or right if they have a plan , what are they waiting for


I want to get paid what I’m worth too but I am realistic and am sure I won’t live long enough to see that happen so a second job will suffice as it got me a Commando

Politicians and the tax man are fair game other than that I’m fair and square

Politicians only have "a better plan" in an election year, NOT when they are already in office.

Remember all the "better plans" for healthcare that were promised? As far as I can tell (but of course, that's just me) IT HASN'T HAPPENED. In fact, IT'S WORSE since the "marketplace" the government set itself up as, came into existence.

Talk about the most insanely stupid thing - let the government help itself to a cut of what NECESSARILY must become a bigger rip-off than it already was...
 
Not a fan of the “market place”. And not smart enough to come with an answer fir health insurance but it appears that the British have it figured out, why not copy their system do the same or do better, oh no we’ll do nothing that seems to be the standard .
 
Just north of you guys , we have national health care , not sure % of each dollar spent maybe 8-10 , it works great other than wait time as a shortage of health care pros here …. most workplaces offer a shared drug plan and once 65 you under anther plan $400 a year max. …. like I say big complaint now is the shortages …. Could be a lot worse …
 
We'll just say , when they introduced G S T , the only employment ' booming ' was that off ACCOUNTANTS to handle the paperwork . All others went into recession . Tho thats about 1995 or so .

N Z hasnt really changed in its primary export earnings catagories . Farming Fishing & Forestry . Unfortunately , if it were to manufacture more produts , " in House " it would be less cash strapped ,
Selling good trees for paper seems absurd , when the could be used for houses .

Cars & Motorcycles HAVE been made in N Z . Some of the WORLDS BEST test drivers & development enginneers , are from there , Heard of Rod millen ( Mitsi ). Bruce Mc Claren ( Mc Claren ! )

Bob Wallace ( Lamborghini ( I wouldve bought one but I didnt know how to spell it ) ) Amon at Ferrari .

We have made a stab at a National Health Care of sorts in the US. It's called the VA (Veterans Administration) Millions use it and it worked for my two brothers in law. Here is the catch and it's the big catch with all health care. Unless you have an advocate that knows how to work the system they will let you die of apathy. By law they have 30 days to respond. That means in 29 days they might schedule you for an appointment or a procedure. They might cancel this later. My wife, their sister, rides them and keep their phones hot. They cured her brother's throat cancer and took pretty good care of her older brother until his death.

Not so sure about that I’m confused the VA is for veterans and it’s not a health care plan unless you are a veteran and meet a certain time of service and still you have to have a service related issue. We need something that covers all people not a select few .

Try getting a doctor's appointment at the moment
Or just about any hospital treatment

Indeed. But even at that level of performance, it still accounts for 44% of ALL tax income (all means all, inc VAT, etc, etc).

Which is a rather eye opening thought IMHO…
