Y'know, I happen to have this mag that contains all the Norton Girl adverts; if any of you are interested, I'll contact Cycle World to see if they'd let me post them. I'm probably already in trouble for showing you this:

Count me in. I'll tell Jenny I was just talking to Hobot when these unbelievable pictures jumped out of the computer.
My Australian collection of Two Wheels (I have nearly all of them) did not have any of these ads. Not that I can recall.
I think we only got Norton Girls No1 and No2.

Those damned Norton Girl adds just killed me in high school in the early 70's. They soley were responsible for my life long desire to own a commando. And not just any commando, the red one, just like this add. This was the best IMO.

Still sends a shiver down my spine.

It's not my spine that's responding to that iconic image!

This was Vivien Neves. Died at age 54 from MS. Quite a sad story, she was hit with the disease at only age 30.

I have this and a couple other posters I need to frame and put up in the shop. (sorry - couldnt find a better pic on the goog)

Maybe this is why the hi-rider was needed - a nice reclining position for the post-ad cigarette smoking moment...

have we all seen this Norton Girl?

The Norton Girl

nothing better than a proper right foot shifter....

The Norton Girl

I know its not a norton, but a fun image just the same. The sweetie in the center bears a striking resemblance to a young surfer chick who worked for me a few years ago!

Like maybe 70 years ago?

But certainly very cute.

I thank Cycle World for not suing the pants off me for doing this, so here goes:

Has anyone ever seen one of these? I could fancy myself blasting around the countryside on this critter.

Which Critter Nathan?
I count eight of them.

Okay, the Nemesis, Phil. I don't think I'd last very long blasting around the countryside with any of the others. That is, my credit card wouldn't last very long... Somehow, the Nemesis impresses me as being the cheaper one to own, and probably more fun overall. As Neil Young said so eloquently, "Yes, only love can break your heart."

Or as Tom Waits sang, you've gotta be strong if you're to go it alone. Re marriage.
They are all expensive Nat. But life is short. There is no CBA in the grave yard in which to leave your money!
Certainly, one Nemesis would be enough.
And one girlfriend/wife, certainly enough.
Find the right girl (took me 59 yrs) and you do not need/want another.
Motorbikes? Not so much. There is nothing wrong with collecting toys.

That girl in the middle has a cheeky look in her eye. [/quote]

Yup - she looks like the one that was going to create a bit of trouble !

I think that look says she won't be any trouble, but she might get you in some! Like 9 months down the road.

Wow, I always thought Austin Powers was a fictional character, but there he is, in Cycle World, all those years ago.... kewl!
