I recently mounted a supertrapp on a norton rotary engine, and the discs were glowing. I don't think that this is a good thing. Does anyone have any experience with supertrapps on rotary engines? If so, how many discs would be advisable for a 40 hp. engine with a 1 inch outlet?

Wow, a Rotary. Don't think there is much experience on the board here with Rotaries. You may be the only one.
I certainly can't help you but wanted to say hello.

Hello and welcome.

I think "nortonf1" owns a rotary, so that makes two rotary owners on the board now! Perhaps he has some insights.

Anyway, welcome to the forum!

Hey bschn140 i honestly wouldn't worry about it, a rotary engine has higher than normal exhaust temps of upwards of 2000ºF!!! As long as things arent's backfiring or running lean i think you'll be ok, although you might melt or blow up a muffler. Thats my experience with "cheap" RX7 rotary mufflers. But to answer your question about the supertrapp, i've got no insight.

Try these guys instead http://www.nortonmotors.co.uk/ ~Gavin
