Buying new carbs, you'll want the Premiers.
Greg Marsh on this site is a good source for these and many other items.

Do you have any of the original parts?
You'll need manifolds, air cleaner, cables etc.

I may have some used items.
PM me if your interested. We can chat off line.
I have the things but get back to you if in need.

Re: loud exhaust.

If you find yourself in a place where noisy exhaust isn't appreciated feather the throttle and watch your revs; few will notice. When in the sparsely populated countryside wail away, now you can hear, and feel, the power. Just a matter common courtesy and respect.

I have a 1.7 liter Victory Vegas 8 Ball

I can quietly motor through town and not be noticed or wake the devil someplace else.

Best.

No suggestions on side bags.
I would probably be looking at some kind of Tail Pack strapped to the seat.
There are also tool bags that can be strapped to the grab bar behind the seat, if it's still in place.

Motor Helmets on Commonwealth has a nice selection of stuff.

Of course, there always the Harley stuff at Lifestyles.

Sidebars

Modern Triumph Thruxton, look for the cheap sales on eBay, do not pay full retail.

They are Triumph Nylon Panniers, part number A9518150

Tail Bags (plus trailers) were discussed on recently in this thread:

I have the Terrain Pannier from Iron & Resin on my Bonneville, have not yet tried it on the Commando. One member responded he was ordering the Viking bags for his Commando, but have not heard how it worked out:

Absolutely.

Proof of that is simple… Kids did NOT used to do that.

In fact they used to yell “GIVE IT SOME WELLY MISTER“ !!
In France a couple of years ago we started our bikes up ready to leave a village
And there were people holding their noses as they passed !
I wouldn't mind if any of our bikes had been two strokes
Or any had been burning oil !!!
Never seen anyone do that before or since?

I have absolutely no intent to sell it but it is hard for the daily commute. Have to travel from Brea to San Fernando daily it is about 50 miles one way so I am thinking about buying a scrambler for the daily travel as it will be a little easy on my back.
Let me try the Donut thing I hope it will do the trick.
