Stuart Garner Sentenced

Al you prob did everything wrong with your super, I took a redundancy from my GOV job at TAFE at 55 in 2013 after 31 years and because I was born before 1960 I was able to get my super at 55 so now I am just drawing a fortnight pension off my super the money is still with QSuper, I didn't go mad with spending the money invested and I live quite well, not rich but enough for me and the wife to live on and pay all the bills, I still have some redundancy money put away, I don't get any GOV hand outs, still have my toys to play with and adding more, I still have 5 years to go to get my old age pension, seems like you made a few mistakes with your money I still have 2 on road bikes, my dirt bike and project bike, my Land Rover and today bought a Pop Top Caravan to do some trips away, life couldn't be better for me if you look after your money and the best thing I own everything including my house.
As for Stuart Gardner seems like he was protected and no matter what he still a crook, just asked the people he ripped off.

Stuart Garner is no more a crook than a very large percentage of other business people. In Australia we now have an economic boom due to the pandemic. Under normal circumstances one third of our population goes overseas on holiday every year. However these days there are now thousands more grey nomads with caravans on our roads, and home-building has gone crazy. In the mean time our workforce is casualised and wage theft has become rampant. Wages have been stagnant since about 1980. One thing which is very noticeable has been the increase in domestic violence - that is a sign that many people are really struggling.
As far as superannuation is concerned - when I was in my previous marriage, I did not drink or smoke or gamble and neither did my ex. Most of our money went into improving our home and a couple of small holidays. We over-capitalised our house. When we sold it, we were able to afford two smaller houses. When we divorced, we did it without solicitors. I did not leave my ex in a situation where she had to sleep in a car, like so many other older women.
When I first married, we bought the worst house in the best street.
All of my tertiary education was done on a part-time basis. Because of that, I always got the best jobs. But I do not recommend living like that.

Our world is full of greedy creeps like Stuart Garner. In Australia, high school kids study like crazy to get into university, so they can get better jobs. However the most interesting jobs often do not pay as well as the ones which are based on bullshit. Money is a very poor motivating influence. - 'If you pay me enough, I can come up with some very original thought' ?
When I was in high school, I actually had a childhood. I always had two jobs in the evening after school. By the time I was 20, I had 8 motorcycles in my shed. I only ever studied subjects which interested me, and I only ever applied for jobs which I really wanted to do.
I do not think Garner was solely money-motivated because the 961 Norton actually exists and appears to be very good. It is a pity he was tempted by the Devil, to buy Aston Martins.

There's a lot of comments on the internet with regards the Astons, the hotel and the Hall etc....but all were company assets and all were used to get more money from the banks, to plough into R&D. The hotel probably supported Norton if anything, with the weddings etc. That will be a huge goldmine now, given how much Castle Donington has expanded with the new housing estates. The V4 project was a huge gamble for such a young design team to take on, as a design and build from scratch production-standard motorcycle.

It is easy for people who have never manufactured anything, to criticise other peoples' efforts. But some wealthy people do not live in the real world, when they are making money. A major problem is getting team members all motivated and pointed in the same direction. And then the risks need to be managed. An ISO9000 Quality Managemernt System is not easy to produce on spec. before you try to make the product. Even If Stuart Garner's did not have to improve Kenny Dreer's design for the Commando, they would still have had a major task

The only thing which I find really abhorrent about Garner is whom he sold his design rights to. If it had been the Japanese, I would be happier. At least then the result might be a quality motorcycle. I think some things are based on class. Many wealthy people hate unions and shape their decisions accordingly.
A Commando fitted with a decent engine management system could be quite quick.
