Sprockets,Nuts and Broken Washers - Is yours ok?

. Trying not to being too much of a thick here but , where /what the damage on that , I’m must be going more blind than I thought ( & I do have an appt for laser surgery on the 22nd ) can’t seem to work out what’s occurring in the pic
Richard , If you look just above the top run of the chain at the edge of the alloy sprocket cover . There you see two black indentations caused by the chain rubbing there.

. My sprocket ( on the second one ) is secure together with tab washer , but do have slight wear on this circular disc on end of swinging arm , only really just noticed it , could be from old chain & sprockets bouncing around , no marks on new chain which was around 1600 miles ago ?

That may have happened when your chain jumped off the sprocket a while back.

Thanks Tony but I can’t claim that, I had the cover off to check mine a few weeks ago and took the above image. Didn’t repair it at the time so it’s got to come off again so I can dress up that edge.

Just a quick addendum to this thread I notice that Ollie has improved tab washers on his site. These are so cheap and easy to fit and the stock ones can cause such problems when they fail (with gearbox internals now unavailable);

Hello Clive , Did you use loctite on the threads upon re-assembly too ? I did.
