I am seeking advice on soft saddlebags suitable for overnight trips. I'd like to be able to use them on my Norton as well as on other vintage bikes.

Givi and Wolfman come to mind. They need to be waterproof. I've had poor luck with a set of Chase-Harper bags in the rain.
Cheers!

A friend just bought some Tourmasters. Medium size. They sling over the seat for easy on and off. Nice set.

I bought Cortech stuff. The tail bag is pretty much permanently mounted on the bike for commuting needs.

I bought Cortech, hang em right across the seat, fastened with a bungee to the passenger pegs. Easy on ,easy off!

i am crabby and don't like anybody very much. (ever since 2010 when i got this),

The head of the local "Airhead" BMW club live down the street from me. Once a year about 150 of them get togeather for meet & greet / tech sessions & I have found them to be some of the nicest bike guys around. Maybe it's because I once owned a K100RS & they can some how smell it on me.

I have the Wolfman Summit saddlebags along with the Expedition Dry Duffel Bag. Well made and sturdy. My only beef is the zippered openings on the saddlebags. Sometimes a larger opening is better, like when they are almost full and you're trying to stuff some heavy gloves in, or to get them out.

Thanks for the tip on posting the photo.
