1939/45 museum just outside Boulougne, the D roads are best in France for motorcycles,hardly any traffic , plenty places of interest anywhere in northern France
Bout 250 miles from Calais , breakfast at Pegasus bridge cafe , the house is the first house to be liberated by the allies on D Day, followed by a German radar station near Sword beach
Omaha beach today 4 miles wide , very humbling, many recent additions to local museums & memorial s,apart from the new British Normandy Memorial at “ Ver sue mer” the one honoured & unveiled by our PM Theresa May & President Macron, would post a pic but it can no longer been seen , it’s encased in wooden pallet types slats standing on its own in the middle of a field , still only been 75 years to get this far
Yes Tony , our budget hotel is in middle of all the sights to see, been back to Pegasus today to the memorial museum today, the bridge was attacked by 3 gliders that landed just 50m from the bridge, when some senior Russians arrived a few weeks later they couldn’t believe they landed so close to target & said the whole thing was staged , on to Merville batterie another one of the 11,000 bunker gun emplacements built from Spain to Scandinavia , heading back tomorrow & hoping to reach a V1/V2 Rocket base on the way back

All done & back home now , 675 mile round trip,well worth the effort & much learnt today of how to start a 961 with a flat battery in 5 minutes( not a power pack ) different thread bout to start on that
