The 72 roadster is just my rider.... I know there is a good bit incorrect.....it was a box of parts when I got it matching numbers though.... The yellow 750s is my project... Bringing back the original paint very slowly. And trying to correct it to ita formal glory. Make it an original survivor
You gotta do something about that seat hah.
Honestly I'm thinking of doing the same to my glass tank. I enjoy a good sand, have you gotten the paperwork on your bikes from AN?
Yes, they can provide you with the despatch record for your bikes. Nice printout of the original factory record.
When they left the line, where they went, color, model etc... For a fee of course.
Go poke around on the Andover site.
I actually looked at the underside seat pan and it looks correct! Thw fit is weird but it has the bumpers and loop and the one indentation and the cut out for the frame. Does anyone have an cover the foam is still ok!
Pic of the seat bottom and what it should look like on the bike. I rebuilt mine with a new cover, used the old foam which is too compressed. You can either buy new foam from Leighton's, Walridge or make your own. It's a special type of foam, I looked it up once but forgot what it's called. It's plenty cheap to make your own. Foam cuts nicely with an old electric knife.
Awesome I believe I have the correct seat pan then!! Take a photo next time I'm at my storage unit.... But look what I'm finding under the rattle paint. Its alot of work wet sanding with 1000 grit....
Original metal flake blue.... One of my covers is silver metal flake... Was that a thing? And would an s ever be that I have the right blue side cover I found on eBay... We will see if ita right but I guess that means I need a left hand one too... But either way check it out. Big flakes in this paint
Alot more work too go.... But I think I may be able to save it. And not sure if anyone needs a lefthand silver side cover. But if they have a blue one I would trade!
Can't believe you're getting the blue color back on that tank. I painted my FFBlue rattle can black once in a snit and when I sanded it off I ended up with a light blue silver color. I ended up painting the covers and tank with Dupli-color Metal Specks in a rattle can. It's not too bad but the specks are small but look OK in the sun. Needs a lot of clear coat, I put about 8 on the side covers and they're OK, but the tank I only put about 3 on and it flaked off in lots of places. I used Dupli-Color clear wheel cover for the clear coat. Should have used that 2-pack clear in the spray cans. The original was a gel coat and had near as I can tell a base of silver with silver and black specs and a gel coat of blue with more specks. It was a pretty intense Flake color.
