Rear Brake Shoes Upgrade?

Now you’ve piqued my intrigue … what do you use adhesive backed sandpaper for on model aircraft ?
They have aluminum sanding bars from 6" to 36" for sanding and shaping balsa wood structures. They even have inverted "V" and convex shaped bars for shaping control surface and wing leading edges respectively.

These guys do relining.
Based on the high speed and positive feedback from people I ride with, the result is good.
They use their more aggressive lining material.
Not the Speed & Sport I've used for years

Cut a couple pieces of 80 grit sandpaper into widths that fit in the drum. Double stick tape the sandpaper on the full interior circumference of the drum and install normally. Start the bike on the center stand and put into gear and let the wheel spin and depress the brake. Repeat a few times.

Pull the brake off and inspect the shoes. They should have sandpaper wear on the full arc of the brakes. If not, reinstall and repeat. If they do, Give everything a good clean and relube, and reinstall.

This will help with arcing and having good strong brakes from the get go.
The RGM upgraded shoes have insufficient clearance in the drum to do this.

Dave, you didn’t overlook this small but possibly important point did you (like I did):

“PLEASE NOTE
EXPANDER PLATES (SLIPPERS) SHOULD NOT BE REQUIRED WITH THESE BRAKE SHOES”

Don Pender sells a rear alloy brake plates that comes with gold resin/particle colored shoes that fit nicely in the drum without to much clearance....and work well once adjusted/bedded in
Front picks
EBC do colour coded disc pads depending on application/use...top notch once bedded in...imo
