on the dummy axle in the brake hub/sprocket the parts drawing shows a #21 washer that fits in the hub preceding the dummy axle. parts drawing has 'ar' for number needed. is this 'as required'? neither my '72 or '74 has this washer. the dummy axle just went in the hub w/ no washer. what's the purpose of the #21 washer?

also regarding the spacer that's a tight fit in the inner race of the 2 row bearing; the manual instructions end w/ the replacement of the dished retainer. am i correct to assume that i should freeze the spacer and tap it home into the 2 row bearing inner race?

as always thanks, rick

My 69 doesn't have the #21 spacer/washer. Perhaps it is there to make up for differences in the swing arm distance at the wheel mounting points? I am not sure.

My spacer went into the double row bearing with no problem. Be careful that you put the short side of the spacer into the double row bearing or things will bind up when you go to assemble things. I think that is right.

# 21 is a shim not a washer. the shim is used to set the brake assembly from bottoming in the drum.
