Pipes

I've got the same mint set up for a 2015 Donny bike sitting in my garage that I took off at the first service. The reason they are not up for sale at the moment is I am still pondering putting them on my 2023 Sport to get a proper exhaust note back, instead of the racket the shorties make now. The only good thing about the present set up is it sounds great when you are short shifting up the box, it reminds me of the chase in the film Bullit but for the rest of the time it's just a loud noise. She is coming up for her 12 months service soon and nothing has broken or fell off.............yet in 3200 miles.

Well if you ever decide to move on your shorties then please get in touch with me as mine have some damage and I'd like to rectify this.
Kind regards Will Barber

I have just fitted the old original long exhausts and what a difference no more excessive noise and no more noise on the over run. Does sound restricted but it goes ok and the engine does seem pretty quiet. Wifey likes it to no more ear plugs. You would think Norton would offer a quieter system or perhaps someone would.

Thiel does. His pipes, when fitted with his DB killers, are much quieter than any open pipes, but still sound very nice.

His DB killers are very insignificant looking things that one would assume made no difference at all. I could not detect any performance impact but their noise reduction impact was huge. I think they must be magic !

D.D. did you just swap the stubbies for the the original long exhausts ( not straight through ) without any other modifications , and does it run ok. Also have you had your first service yet and if so did the mechanic at Oakmere make any comments.?

Had the first service couple of months ago all ok and just fitted the long original exhaust’s, there doesn’t seem to be any problems but haven’t been far. Does seem slightly restricted when running and they are quiet. I did have a set of long open exhausts with decat which was a great set up only to sell them when I purchased the 961 TVS Norton, plonker !
I think you live pretty close to me, if your interested to have a listen give me a call.
They fitted straight on without modifying.

It would seem we are a couple of plonkers as I sold my Sport with the decat and open pipe setup on too , not anticipating not getting on with the new pipes ,after only a short test ride. You live and learn as they say. I know what you mean about the standard silencers they did feel a little restrictive from new that's why I changed them at the 600 mile service at Donnington, they certainly made a change in sound an performance.😢
As Goldilocks would have said, "The first pipes were too quiet, the third pipes were too loud, but the second pipes were just right" 😄
