You have to push the little dimple in whilst pulling. Someone posted pics on here once, but buggered if I can find ‘em.
There is a bit of a knack to it. But once discovered it is very easy. If your there tomorrow a quick demonstration could be held.checked over my 961 for tomorrow and battery was at 7V and ‘bad battery’ sign on charger, so £145 later, new exact Yuasa one fitted. Question: I couldn’t detach the 90 degree plastic connector from fuel pump, how??
However, by lifting tank and tilting it over to left, standing on left of bike, and duct taping tank to RHS frame to stop it slipping further off, I changed the battery!
Can I hold you to this commentIt’s going to be great weather - let’s have a great turn out!!
Sorry to hear that.I still can't bend my leg enough to get on the bike so sadly one 961 down. But I am going to get along to say hello at welford around noon. Rothwell is on the way so if I can find that cafe i will
Maybe battery voltage has dipped below optimal level for good ignition ?Cancel the meeting at the services. It would seem that if I didn’t have bad luck I wouldn’t have any. Bike won’t start. Turning over but not catching. Checked all the usual suspects but as I came light I don’t have any tools with me. Waiting on RAC. Hopefully I might still make it. Hope not on the back of a trailer.
I ran out of petrol on the M1 near Northampton. Seemed to be quite a bit sloshing around, but obviously not enough. While waiting at services for RAC, thought I might as well add some and it solved non-starting, so back down the A5 home, as too late to Welford it by then.I think there were around 6 x 961's, a street and a dominator. Lots of talk of Stuarts support and his number was shared. The weather was ok but some rain heading back. Excellent bacon roll with a half of bass on draught. Some nice old Nortons too along with a couple of Guzzis and Truimphs.
Blighty, did you break down?
I didn't trip over any long pipes so Clive cant have been there either
Cam position sensor again. Then dragged the battery too low. Running again but a sagaMaybe battery voltage has dipped below optimal level for good ignition ?
Have you tried a Bosch brand sensor ? Just wonder why they keep going bad ? maybe a lot of salt spray from the front wheel . What did Stu say ?Cam position sensor again. Then dragged the battery too low. Running again but a saga
BBC weather - I suffered too but not as much you and Richard - what a trip for you fellas…..!Can I hold you to this comment
Disappointed not to make it this year - thanks to our neighbour's builders damaging a pipe our bathroom wetroom upstairs decided to extend into the kitchen below. Hoping for some good weather this year for some more meet-ups. Still waiting for the Norton visitor's reception be open.I didn't trip over any long pipes so Clive cant have been there either
