Ok Jam no problem
I just reviewed my posts, and have come to the conclusion my spelling could use some work. Hopefully my mechanical abilities are better. In my excitement over the oil pressure sensor unit, I misspelled both baz and and madass, so I guess my name is now Mud! My apologies to all.

No worries mate

I have my op sensor fitted for nearly a year now,. After a couple of teething probs it has worked perfectly all year. The oil light comes on when the ignition come son ans does not go off until after the engine has stopped.
A great design and build by don [ madass ]
I have another to fit to my 750 when I get it back on the road.

I am still looking for a digital OP sender of the same size as the switch which 'Madass' supplies with his kit. I would like to fit a digital OP gauge (0-100 psi) in addition to the low pressure warning light.

Allow me to resurrect this topic, getting the electrics worked out with my 750. Have the switch wired into my headlight bucket. A bit confused as to how to go about linking it with my warning light. Attach it to the warning ground? Thanks.

Yes. The switch grounds through the engine. Power for light wire from battery > Light > Ground for the light wire > oil pressure switch > engine > ground back to battery.

i used the power wire (white) for the now obsolete warning light assimilator and ran a new wire down to the sensor.

The white and brown wire I taped up, Shouldn’t cause any dramas no?

Knut: I searched the web for such a unit (either digital or analog) with no results. If you find anything, please let us know.

Hi Slick,
I am working on a digital solution, will let you know when I have it working. Digital senders are neat and very robust. There are analog senders out there, unfortunately unsuitable to motorcycles, both in terms of size and longevity.

I'm thinking maybe a typo here? The light should illuminate with NO pressure (begin to flicker just below 10psi), but otherwise be OFF with the bike running and pressure levels above the warning threshold.

Yeah, that post threw me off too.

Sorry guys,. You are right. Typo error. Don's kit works well and with a LED light point straight at me from the h/lamp nacelle, gives me plenty of warning. Tested a few times by letting the engine die while the clutch is in.

Can anyone say if these are still available? Ran my fresh rebuild for a couple of minutes and only found a dribble of oil under the valve covers. Expected to see an oily mess in there. Would like some peace of mind...
