Official Oil Line Routing Thread (2010)

not so difficult after all

hope it works

I actually managed to once again confuse myself with my own previous post.

I caught myself looking at the Old Britts site and because I was on the 72 the parts drawing is wrong. Luckily I checked this old thread.

I didn’t call it previously but there is one 17” and two 12” hoses.

The 17” hose goes on the outside junction (if you’re looking from the back of the bike it’s the right side) and goes to the large banjo on the back of the tank.

One of the 12” hoses goes from the inner (or left side looking from the back) to the oil filter.

The other 12” hose goes from the oil filter to the back of the oil tank (to the tube that also goes to the chain oiler, which you have blanked off).

Did I finally get this right?

I’m surprised no one has asked Old Britts to pull the incorrect parts drawing.

As this is the official oil line thread, what is the official route for the timing case to head feed nylon line? A photo would be better than words. Thanks!

Here is a photo of an original bike.
Line goes up through center of cradle rails, via hole in side rail.
But i think in-between intake manifolds is how it is supposed to be?
