Nowadays the generally available pressed up number plates 7 x 5 have the numbers and letters on the raised part painted with silver. Historically the raised letters and numbers were in the underlying aluminium. I think that these were much better. I have looked all over on the internet but can't find anyone who can supply these as they used to be. Does anyone know of a supplier that can do these please ?

I will get one soon for my old Matchless, to keep that old original look . Hope this is , what Mr Squiggles was after . Cheers .

I used Tippers in the U.K. as recommended by NOC members I know. Fab job, polished aluminium characters with stove enamelled black.

They look good too. Thanks

You might want to check it is legal first.
That is news to me you can do whatever you like with number plates in Australia let alone use a non issued plate, colour or otherwise.

NZ has a 5k fine for not using an official plate , it's not widely policed
, if you make it look good , I think your ok .

Although I live in Australia I travel to England each year for a holiday. My bikes are kept in England and the plates are legal there for for old bikes. I leave the bikes there so that I can use them to travel from England to Spain for the MC. Indianos club North of Spain and Colombres Rallies in September / October each year. These rallies are for pre 1988 bikes and are great events and are well run by the club
